In October 2007, one of the special type transformers, designed and manufactured by Iran Transfo Co. experts passed the electrical tests successfully. Undoubtedly producing such transformers could be a step toward the company’s growth and development and rising its credit in local and external markets. 

This three phase transformer, 40MVA-230/63/20kV, produced for Gilan REC's mobile substation, is known as the company’s first 230kV mobile transformer produced so far. It’s got some significant specifications including:

1-Cooling system: The cooling system used for this transformer is OFAF type (Oil Forced Air Forced) and with the air heat exchanger.

2-Special design of tank: a great endeavor has been devoted to minimize the tank sizes and weight as much as possible, such as:

- Performing the optimized insulation structure in active part of transformer

-Design of the side wall’s hemi-cylinder

-Horizontal installation of 230kV bushings

-Use of existing space beneath the 230kV bushings for installation of cable box and the 20kV bushings

3-Installation of Oil-SF6 bushings in the 230kV side (This type of bushing was used due to the customer’s request).

4-Special wiring: In this transformer wiring , particularly on the HV side, due to the high voltage( 230kV) and use of oil-oil bushings in the test circuit and the specific test towers as well as the necessity of converting the test circuit to the main circuit, special designs have been used.

5-Cubic conservator: Design of conservator with air bag installation facility as well as resistance against vacuum with the minimized height from the tank cover, which was quite effective in minimizing the transformer height.
